Laura Schildkraut, Host

Laura Schildkraut is the founder of Onboarding Gen Y, an organization whose mission is to prepare new-to-market Gen Y employees to successfully enter the workplace and help guide organizations to effectively hire, welcome, retain and enable these employees to exceed expectations.

Prior to launching Onboarding Gen Y, Laura spent eleven years as a faculty member at the University of Washington Business School where much of her attention was focused on guiding college juniors and seniors as they searched for fulfilling career paths.

In addition to teaching an MBA class in Information Systems Strategy, Laura
taught undergrad classes in Systems Analysis, Business Communication, and an innovative class she developed called "Management Lessons from 'The
Apprentice'". The Apprentice class not only earned her the highest student
evaluations in the business school twice, but also received national
recognition from CNN and Dateline. Laura's students were known to "hit the
ground running" and generally demonstrated more professionalism, initiative
and confidence than their peers.

In 2000, Laura was asked to be the Executive Director of the new E-Business
Program where she successfully led the program through its inaugural year.
She also helped established a successful IT Mentorship Program and
dramatically grew the IT Internship Program both in terms of participating
companies and number of students.

Laura is the host and an executive producer of Information Technology
Leaders, On the Career Path, and Information Matters television shows which
air on ResearchChannel and UWTV.

Before joining the UW faculty Laura spent fourteen years in business working
for Microsoft, Ogilvy & Mather, the N.A.S.D and Chemical Bank. She holds an
MBA from NYU’s Stern School of Business, with concentrations in Information
Systems and Marketing.
